Dedicated same-day freight

Hot Shot Trucking.

One truck, one load, straight from pickup to drop. When a broker is too slow and a full carrier is overkill, LeadFoot Express puts a dedicated hot shot truck on your freight and rolls within the hour.

What hot shot trucking actually is

Hot shot trucking is dedicated, expedited freight hauled on a medium-duty truck and trailer instead of a full tractor-trailer. Your load is the only load on the truck. There is no terminal, no cross-dock, and no waiting for a trailer to fill. The driver picks up, drives direct, and delivers, which is why hot shot is the fastest way to move freight that has to be somewhere now.

It is the sweet spot between a parcel courier and a full truckload carrier. Too big for a van, too urgent or too small to wait on a freight broker, that is the LeadFoot Express lane. We built the company around loads that other carriers treat as an afterthought.

When hot shot beats standard freight

  • A rig, plant, or crew is down and a part has to arrive today
  • A standard LTL carrier quoted two to four days and you have hours
  • The load is one to fifteen pallets, a single machine, or a bundle of pipe
  • You need one driver accountable for the freight the whole way, not a relay
  • Pickup or delivery is a job site, yard, or remote location a big rig cannot reach easily

What we run

Our fleet is built for real-world loads, not just easy dock-to-dock runs.

  • One-ton and three-ton dually trucks for fast, flexible pickups
  • Gooseneck flatbeds up to 40 feet for long or heavy freight
  • Pipe-rack trailers for oilfield tubulars and over-length material
  • Cargo capacity that covers everything from a single skid to roughly 16,500 lb

Why shippers keep our number

Dispatch answers 24/7/365, so you are never leaving a voicemail when a load goes critical at 2 a.m. We quote flat rates with no surprise fuel or detention surcharges bolted on after the fact, and you get live location, route, and ETA the whole way. Drivers are background-checked and the cargo is insured up to $1M.

Most of our work is hot shot, but it spans several lanes. Explore expedited freight for STAT windows, oilfield and energy hauling for rig-ready loads, flatbed and oversized for the awkward stuff, or scheduled routes to lock a recurring lane. We run it all from Houston and Baytown out to long-distance lanes across the region.

Dispatch FAQ

Questions, answered fast.

How fast can a hot shot truck pick up my load?

Dispatch runs 24/7 and we typically have a truck rolling within the hour. For time-critical freight we offer STAT, 2-hour, and 4-hour pickup windows.

How much weight can a hot shot truck carry?

Our trucks and gooseneck trailers handle everything from a single pallet up to roughly 16,500 lb, including long material on pipe racks. Send the dimensions and weight and dispatch confirms the right truck.

Is hot shot cheaper than a full truckload carrier?

For small or urgent loads, usually yes. You pay for a dedicated truck and direct drive instead of a full 53-foot trailer you do not need. We quote flat rates with no hidden surcharges.

Do you only run in Houston?

No. Baytown and Houston are home base, but we run hot shot loads statewide across Texas and long-haul into Louisiana and Oklahoma whenever freight needs to move fast.
